TYC Rules and Regulations 2026
The mission of Tuttle Youth Cheer is to promote school spirit, develop teamwork and sportsmanship, and provide a safe and respectful environment of which children can learn, grown, and have fun. It is the intention of this organization to allow any child who wants to cheer, the opportunity to participate.
I. Eligibility:
a. All cheerleaders must have a current registration form on file.
b. Registration fees are due at the time of registration
c. The Rules and Regulations Form must be signed/electronically signed by a parent/guardian and on file with the TYC Board before she is allowed to practice or attend a game.
d. Transfer of participants during the season is prohibited.
e. Squad age shall be defined as the grade the participant would be in on August 1st of the upcoming season.
f. In order to level squad sizes, changes to grade assignments for corresponding TYF teams may change with TYC board approval.
II. Attendance and Practices:
a. Practice is important and all cheerleaders should attend. If a cheerleader is going to absent from a practice or a game, a phone call or text from the parent to the coach is expected.
b. Practices will be weekdays (Monday through Friday). Excluding summer cheer camp/clinic.
c. Scheduling practices will be left up to each Head Coach.
d. Be on time.
e. If you are late for attendance at a game or miss practice during the week, the cheerleader could be benched from the half time routine. This rule is important because EVERYONE'S POSITION in a half-time routine depends on all the cheerleaders. If one cheerleader is late or doesn't show up, the routine must be changed.
III. Games/Practices:
a. It is required that a parent/guardian for each participant be present to supervise their child at all games.
b. Only cheerleaders and coaches are allowed on the field.
c. Cheerleaders must wear official uniform to games as decided upon by the coach. Official uniform includes hair bow, appropriate socks, and shoes.
d. Cheerleaders are responsible for bringing all equipment to practices and games (poms, bag, drink).
e. Long hair MUST be pulled back and away from the face.
f. No jewelry allowed during practice or games.
g. Cheerleaders may not leave practice or games without coaches’ permission.
h. For the safety and well-being of all participants, any cheerleader with specific medical conditions or special needs that require individualized attention or specialized care must have a parent or legal guardian present at all practices, games, and events.
IV. Sportsmanship:
a. All Cheerleaders, coaches, and parents wearing the Tuttle logo will behave in a proper and courteous manner when in public representing our school/organization.
b. Misconduct by players, coaches, spectators, officials, scorekeepers or supervisory personnel WILL NOT be tolerated. Misconduct can be defined as improper gesturing, aggressive verbal or physical contact and the use of alcohol, smoke or smokeless tobacco and illegal substance.
c. If a cheerleader brings any foul behavior or language to practices or games, he or she will be warned that a repeated offense will result in suspension from any or all practices/games/competition for the remainder of the season.
d. If a spectator or parent brings any foul behavior or language to practices, games, or competition, he or she will be warned that a repeated offense will result in their removal from the event and possibly the remainder of the season's events.
e. A cheer squad's failure to follow rules and regulations set forth by the TYC Board may result in the elimination or dismantling of the squad for the remainder of the season with no refund in registration fees.
V. Competition (if applicable)
a. Practice for competition is mandatory. If a cheerleader misses more than two practices before a competition, they may not be allowed to participate in competition due to safety.
b. Official uniform is required for competition and may include "sleeves".
c. Long hair is to be pulled away from the face with appropriate bow.
d. Make-up should be uniform and appropriate. Eye embellishments (rhinestones, false eyelashes, etc.) are PROHIBITED.
f. Coaches may require additional practice/extended practice leading up to competition day.
g. Cheerleaders are to arrive at competition at the time specified by the head coach. No exceptions will be made.
